Friday Night Power Hour: 60 Minutes of To-Dos So You Can Enjoy Your Weekend

Friday Night Power Hour: 60 Minutes of To-Dos So You Can Enjoy Your Weekend

What if this Saturday morning, instead of trying to get food in bellies while emptying the dishwasher and changing the laundry, your entire family could sit down and enjoy a relaxed breakfast together? Or you could grab snacks and head out the door for an adventure, knowing your to-do list is checked off?

This doesn’t require some super human feat of organization or a stealthy late-night housecleaner; just an hour of time when the kiddos are sleeping so you and you partner get stuff done.

Instructions:
Pour yourself an adult beverage, turn on some motivating tunes (not too loud:), set a timer for 60 minutes, divide and conquer:

| 1 | Start a load of laundry, preferably towels because they are quick to wash, fold and put away :)

| 2 | Pick up all the miscellaneous items scattered throughout your house and put them away. You know, all those little toys, bags filled with toys, books and socks that have ended up everywhere.

Pro tip: Carry a laundry basket with you so you can gather everything and put things back as you reach that room in the house. No need to run to every room multiple times!

| 3 | Bathrooms: clean toilets, wipe counters and mirrors.

| 4 | Kitchen: wipe all surfaces (including appliances) and load dishwasher to run overnight.(Switch laundry to dryer.)

| 5 | Do a quick floor clean up with the cordless vacuum you keep in your pantry—because these are lifesavers.

| 6 | Sort through the mail pile that has accumulated over the week.

| 7 | Clean out refrigerator. Compost what you can, freeze anything that may still save and take a mental note of your grocery list.

| 8 | Fold and put away your load of laundry.

| 9 | Now finally, settle in with your husband, beverage of choice in hand and next episode of your latest Netflix binge ready to play. Wake up to bliss in the morning and WAY less to do over the weekend.

xoxo, Lisa
